Michael Mattes joined SCR-Tech in March 2007, and is responsible for all sales, marketing, operations, customer service and business development activities for SCR-Tech. Mr. Mattes joined SCR-Tech with 32 years of business operations, sales, marketing, engineering, and logistics experience, including more than 25 years in the energy and utility, chemical manufacturing and hazardous waste industries. Prior to joining SCR-Tech, Mattes served as vice president of sales and business development for Schneider National Bulk Carriers where he led his sales team into new lines of businesses and improved customer relationships. From 1984 to 2005, he held several executive level positions including group vice president of Phillip Service Corporation, a leading hazardous waste disposal and service company. From 1980 to 1984, Mattes held positions of increasing responsibility in environmental engineering at Babcock & Wilcox Company, a world leader in power generation equipment design, supply and service including SCR systems for coal-fired power plants, where he was responsible for preparing bid proposals and negotiating license agreements. He began his career in 1975 as a production supervisor for E.I. DuPont, Inc. a chemical manufacturing company, and was credited with achieving significant capacity increases and product improvements. Mattes earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron.

Nicholas Pollack joined CoaLogix in May of 2012. Dr. Pollack was most recently with Calgon Carbon Corporation in the role of Director of Business Development primarily focused on developing and commercializing Calgon Carbons Mercury Sorbent Product line targeting Coal Fired power plant emissions. Dr. Pollack led a wide range of initiatives at Calgon Carbon ranging from Process Engineering Design and Development to Manufacturing Process Development and Support. Dr. Pollack also has prior experience in Coal Research with the Department of Energy and refining/production with Exxon. Dr. Pollack received all of his degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

Joe B. Cogdell joined CoaLogix Inc., in January, 2008 as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining CoaLogix, Joe was a member of the multi-state law firm Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC, having practiced in the firm’s corporate and securities group in Charlotte, NC for 20 years. For over 30 years Joe has represented public and private companies in a broad range of corporate and business transactions. Joe has been an active volunteer in the Charlotte community having served as past Chairman of the Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Commission, President of Partners for Parks and Assistant Scoutmaster Boy Scouts of America Troop 3.

Brett Ellis joined CoaLogix, Inc. in November, 2012 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Ellis is responsible for all finance, accounting, business development and treasury activities and provides support to the Company’s board of directors. Mr. Ellis joined CoaLogix with over 15 years of corporate finance, strategic development, mergers and acquisitions, operations and financial planning and analysis experience. Prior to joining CoaLogix, Mr. Ellis was most recently with FairPoint Communications, Inc. in the role of Vice President, Business Planning and Financial Reporting. Mr. Ellis is a CPA with experience in the telecommunications, manufacturing and public accounting industries. Mr. Ellis holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Li Zhang joined CoaLogix’ in March 2010 as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) reporting directly to the President/CEO. Li has held a number of senior leadership positions with Koch Membrane Systems, ITT, GE and IONICS. He received a bachelor of science and masters of science in chemical engineering (system engineering) from Beijing University. In addition, Li also has a master’s of science in chemical engineering from Northeastern University. Since is time with CoaLogix Li has accepted a new role for CoaLogix as the Vice-President & General Manager of China operations. He has received eight (8) patents and has six (6) pending approval along with a number of publications and technology presentations.
